HOW THIS TOOL WORKS

A practical check before you print.

A 3,000 × 2,000 px image fitted to an 8 × 10 in page has 375 effective PPI; filling the page instead gives 200 PPI and crops the sides. Low source density remains low even when you export more pixels. Circle exports use a square canvas; PNG keeps transparent corners, JPEG and PDF use white. Social presets are editable starting sizes, not a platform approval check.

Files stay in this browser. See the resource limits and export guide for large jobs and printer setup.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose an image and enter finished dimensions and output PPI.
  2. Set shape and ratio; drag the crop or enter coordinates. Check effective PPI.
  3. Select PNG, JPEG or PDF and download the prepared image.

Does setting 300 PPI improve a low-resolution image?

No. Increasing output pixels resamples the source without recovering missing detail. Effective PPI describes the source pixels at their placed size; check it before printing.
